If your child is not entitled to free school meals then you must pay for school dinners, or send them with a healthy packed lunch.

School meals cost £2.30 per day and should be paid for in advance via the School Gateway app. Children select their meal choice during morning registration.

All meal options are available when a child books their meal during morning registration with their class teacher. However, if a child arrives late to school (i.e. after 9am) then the only meal options available to them will be the 'Main Event' or the 'Vegan Option'. Hot Tomato Pasta, Sandwiches and Jacket Potatoes cannot be ordered for children arriving after 9am as the system is closed for these options.

Trips & Visits

If you pay for school meals then please send your child with a packed lunch if their class is out on a trip. If your child receives free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided for them.

Aspens take their responsibility of catering for today’s children and young adults seriously. All of the dishes are prepared everyday using quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients that are responsibly sourced.

As well as ensuring the food on the plate is healthy, Aspens want our pupils to understand the importance of eating the right foods and help them with their food and nutrition journey.

Special diets and food allergens

Don’t think that your child can’t enjoy our great food if they have a special diet – they are an important part of our catering service. Aspens can provide food if they have an intolerance, an allergy, or require an alternative choice due to religious beliefs.

Legislation requires caterers to provide allergen information on food sold that is served ‘unpackaged’. Aspens already cater for lots of children with allergies and they regularly check the information from suppliers to see if there have been any ingredient changes.
