Attendance
Rosslyn Park is a safe place for children with clear and consistent routines and secure relationships with caring and responsible adults. Our school environment is inclusive and built on respect and learning with big goals for everyone individually and collectively. When a child is not in school, they are unable to fully access our aspirational curriculum developed on powerful knowledge and consideration for the community and children’s wellbeing.
We place a high value on every child’s attendance and punctuality and we will work with parents to ensure that all children are in school every day and on time. Our attendance strategy will minimise the disruption to learning so each child can reach their potential and improve their life chances. Absence from school is also a potential safeguarding risk.
The expectation of both Rosslyn Park and the Government is that every pupil has a minimum of 96% attendance. Rosslyn Park works closely with Education Welfare Service to maintain a high standard of school attendance.
Absence from school has a detrimental effect on your child's education:
Our Attendance Champion – Mrs Riley - operates a Late Gate each morning in the school reception. If a pupil arrives after the gates close at 9am, they will only have the option of Red or Green choices for school dinner and they will receive a late mark.
School timings are as follows:
Doors open at 8:45 for all classes (except Nursery) | Pupil start time | Pupil end time
Nursery am | 8:45 | 11.45 | |
Nursery pm | 12:30 | 3.30 | |
Reception Years 1 and 2 | 8:45 | 3:15
Years 3 – 6 | 8:45 | 3:20 |
|

It is essential that your child arrives on time each day:

We reward good attendance at Rosslyn Park through incentives, prizes, and competitions.
